The Sunday Newspaper

I want to let you all in on some news and a new release that hit the store this week!

First….  I have some EXTREMELY exciting news!!!  It involves a store…  It involves a store I’ve been applying for since October…  It  involves a store I’ve been applying for since October that now has an opening for me to sell there!!!

Great news huh?  What?  You thought I was going to tell you what store it was huh?  Not a Chance!!!  You’ll have to check back to find out!

In addition to that, I did a collab this weekend with 2 awesome designers whom I respect SO much!  That Collab kit will be released on the day my store opens and I’m giddy to the bones to share it with you!!!

This kit was released last week at GDWI.  If you don’t already know, last week marked a momentous occasion for me. One year ago on March 4th, I delivered to my very small blog audience, my first EVER freebie: a kit called Lucky Charm.  I was then known as Ferg Designs (Ferg coming from my last name, Ferguson) and I was eager to learn everything I could about the world of design! When I started selling at Digital Candy I changed my design name to Duchess Designs and my preview here reflects that.  Don’t remember the kit?  Here’s a refresher….

 

Well in honor of the anniversary of my first freebie, I revamped this kit!  The inspiration of the new Lucky Charm came from the colors of this kit, but almost everything else is not the same!  Trust me, It’s amazing how much you can grow in one year!!!  So here’s the New Lucky Charm, which is on sale for 25% off through tomorrow night!

New Release....

Hello - Hello to all! I hope everyone is having an excellent week. We sure are! Our Steelers put us in a great mood for sometime to come. If you are a Steeler Fan - WAHOOOOO- if not, I still hope you had a great week!

Enough football talk...I am here to show off the newest release into the Duchess Designs' Store at Get Digi With It.

Maria has just put out an AMAZING new template set. It is called Celebration Doubles, and it is two two-page templates.

It great for any theme you are shooting for, and it can also be used for Project 365 pages. It is on sale now at GDWI so hop on over there and grab it!

Finally a New Release!

And this one is so gorgeous you definitely don’t want to miss it!!

I saw these 2 really awesome layouts made by my cousin, both of her daughter’s birthday celebration.  So I asked her if I could make a couple templates from those layouts, and she said yes!!!  I was so stoked!  But then I went without internet, and I’ve been so busy getting Get Digi With It running smoothly since the take-over, that I hadn’t had a chance to do them.  Well, finally I buckled down and did it! It only took a speed scrap to encourage it (Thanks Mel!) and I totally love the way they turned out! 

So here is the “Celebration Doubles” two-page template pack.  It comes in 3 file types: .psd, .tif, and .png.  The layered file types also come in 24x12 version and 12x12 versions.  You can get it in the store for 40% off right now too!!!

 

 

I did this layout with one of these templates the other day.  Boy was it fun to scrap with!  and these photos have been needing a layout for a while now! lol

New Stuff

Hello from Texas... and Happy New Year to EVERYONE!!!!!!

I am here today to let you know about some recent releases in the Duchess Designs Shop. One of Maria's newest additions to the store is Giggles and Secrets. This kit is so bright and fun it makes creating layouts easy... Here is a preview of the kit and it is linked to the store at GDWI.Below I have posted some layouts created by the royal court to give you some inspiration...

This first layout is from Dani. I love the way the black and white photo looks with the bright papers and elements. The next layout is by Jamie. she also used Template pack 2 to create this layout. The flowers within the frames are really cute. The last two layouts are by yours truly. The first is using a template freebie by Steel City Scraps. The second is a scraplift of one of Jamie's Layouts.

What's New

Hi! It's Saturday and that means you get to see what is new in the Duchess Designs shops! But first, how was everyone's turkey day that celebrates? Mine was very good! Good food, family and conversation. I truly love and am thankful for the family I have. We are all very close, relationship and distance wise. Although some are a little farther away and don't make it to every event, we are still a close knit family. And luckily, the significant others we have chosen have fit in wonderfully and seem to enjoy all that we do together. It has kind of become a tiny little test of sorts I think in our family, lol. The best friends and husbands and boyfriends over the years have stayed that way when they get to know the whole family and can stand our antics at times. A few of my daughter's school friends over the years still get together on occasion with the whole family. SO anyway, our turkey day was great! I of course ate to much, but who doesn't?

And are you now counting down the days till Christmas? I am, but only because I watch the days pass and realize I really need to get busy and finish the many projects I have started for gifts this year, lol. Ok, what is new this week? We have Twas the Night Before Christmas kit, which I just love! Here is a preview of it, and if you click on the images they will take you to the store lickity split!

What's New

It's Dawn again and I am back! Is everyone getting ready for the holidays? In the states next Thursday is Turkey Day! Or as it is more commonly called, Thanksgiving. A day of giving thanks, realizing all the things that you have in your life to truly be thankful about. And for me, a day spent with family. Sometimes it is everyone and sometimes just a few of us, like this year. But we hear from everyone and have great phone conversations with everyone taking a turn talking to the missing person. And this year, like last, I am happy to have my daughter home, though she wont be there. She spends Thanksgiving with her husband's family.

So this week take some time to give thanks for all the great things little and small that we take for granted in our lives. And remember those over seas missing their families and give thanks for all that they do to protect this great nation of ours, or where ever you live. Give thanks for those that protect you.

I'm Chillaxin' at Sunshine Studio Scraps!

I made a new mini kit for the Sunshine Studio Scraps Project Sunshine designer contest! And it's toally the bomb too! I even had to extract some of my own elements for it and they turned out pretty good! I had to deal with a few camera issues first though! lol. But in the end I really like it! You can pick it up in my store! Sorry, download links have been removed.

And, just like last time, I made some QPs to give to you too! (sorry, link has expired)! Hope you like them!

(By The Way: I just thought I'd give a shout out to my girl ChrissyW who is the best template maker around! Both these QPs were made from her "Gotcha Cornered" template set and in addition, most of the QPs I make (as opposed to my team) are made with templates by Chrissy! Go check out her blog here!!!)

Sunshine & Giggles & Secrets

I decided to join the designer contest at Sunshine Studio Scraps last week! I've never done a designer contest and thought it would be a good way to challenge myself plus SSS looks like a fun place to be with a ton of really great designers!


Our first challenge was posted Friday and I got mine done and posted today. I don't know the number exactly, but there must be about 30-40 designers participating in this! How exciting to be among them! All the entries thus far are looking so great, so if you're not a member of SSS, you should go sign up and you'll be able to DL all the minis from this first challenge free!


Mine is called Giggles & Secrets. Now, I must admit that I always have a very hard time naming my kits. I have no idea why, but naming things have always been difficult for me. My husband chose the name for my photography business when I couldn't come up with anything better than Snapshots photography! lol. Then, when I was pregnant, I can't tell you how many times I cried myself to sleep thinking that my child would go his whole life without a name! (Can you say irrational pregnancy hormones?!?)


So as I sat at my computer staring at the kit, trying to feel out a name, I was hit by how it reminded me of a friendship. So I got out my trusty "Word" book and looked under the heading friendship. And there it was.... "Giggles & Secrets" What better way is there to describe a playful and intimate friendship among women?!


Anyway, here's a look at the mini kit. It has 5 papers and 10 elements, and you can get the FREE download link by logging in to the gallery at Sunshine Studio Scraps and navigating to this image in the "Missions" gallery. If you like it, leave me a comment there! And if you scrap with it, submit it to the SSS sub-gallery just for layouts done with the Missions kits.





Also, because I love this kit so much, I decided to make a few QPs to go with it! The QPs you can get here by clicking on the preview (sorry, link has expired)... but remember, the kit preview will take you to SSS where you will have to get the link. Hope you like!

blog{pax}, CT layouts, and a freebie, OH MY!

So What are blog{pax} anyway? Well, they're my newest creations specially designed for bloggers!

Now you can get a blog{pax} to spruce up your blog that is so easy to install (a caveman could do it! lol)! In the pack comes 4 background paper options, 2 header options (one with photo andone without), 2 different style sidebar tabs to personalize, a post divider or 2, and a swatch of color suggestions for your main wrapper (where your posts go). Oh, and of course instructions on how to install the graphics! I told you it was easy!

So here is the first set I have in the store with the Falling Leaves kit. The best thing about this is that there are options for your blog to be fall themed, or options for the rest of the year too!

Lots going on around town -- first and foremost some news. Duchess is closing shop at Digital Candy... what does that mean to you ??? A SUPER SALE, that's what!!!!

You will see the likes of Raggedy Ann, Aurora, Hannah Montana, Dora the Explorer and so many more. Don't forget about SPEED SCRAP every Saturday night with Maria. Each Saturday gets funner and funner! Here is the layout I made this week called FLY, which I created with Duchess's Falling Leaves kit. I love this kit so much because it is such a soft contrast from your typical Fall colors.
